Rebuilt the engine. Took all apart my '79. Had no idea what I was getting into at first. It all started with my '78 having a warped head and heavy leak due to overheating from prior owner. My first vehicle, fell inlove instantly. Became my project until I noticed white smoke from my exhaust and starting over heating bad. Blown head gasket I was hoping. But not so lucky. So needed a new head, found a '79 that was doomed to be crushed in a yard. Had to save it. So got it on a limb. Then lost my job. Stopped my progress dead in its tracks for my '78. So started working on my '79 but wiring nightmare fuel gadge was off, and started over heating right after 10 minutes. Argh!!! Not again! So I went in. Day by day cleaning as I went. Painting parts, new gaskets. And a broken tension timer. Those are kinda irritating if your a newbie. So... month and a half later. New gaskets. New paint on the engine, and accessories. Took a while to figure out the timing. Was worried about that mainly. But read and read, looked pic after pic. My haynes '72-'82 book kinda wasn't much help. The pics aren't even the same engine in some cases. But according to the experts, my timing should be good. All new gaskets. Ready to put back together, to get on the road. And couldn't be. a greater time, gas is killer right now. So thanks guys in advance. Will let you know the final installation.

Had to swap my plugs around. Adjust the timing kinda. But all in all. Not too shabby.
