They're not all that hard to find cheap. I bought a running 305 for 100 bucks off craigslist not too long ago.

i picked up a 4.3, 700r4 and t case for 425. so for under 500 you should be ready to go :lol:

If you build the engine correct the first time who cares how easy it is to pull. I have a stock core support and a small block in my truck and I can still pull my engine pretty easy if needed. I dont understand why everyone cuts the core support, it is needed for a reason.

It's like everything, depends on the situation. In my case, after I grenaded the 3rd 700R4, the core support got cut. It was either that or the crossmember...

500+hp does that sometimes. The 700r4 isn't known for its strength.
