Congrats on the win! Hope it turns out to be something relatively minor...

:signiagree What he said.
I am really looking forward to being able to run mine down the track. I have a lot of work to do before that happens though.

Leak down was good , trans fluid looked good , inside the filter looks good . Tires are junk with no depth holes . I don't know how I missed that . Swapped tires already and just ordered a set of the pro bracket radials to try out . Last fuel I bought was 90% so I was a touch lean . I put 3 jet sizes into it and cut it back to 85% should be good to go for the National dragster challenge , which I am the defending champ .

Been working on this thing . I ran IHRA bracket finals in this truck and the NHRA in the blue truck at NHRA . Tires are done so I swapped to the 28's off the blue truck and 24" fronts as all I have left 2 index races . Pro bracket radials don't agree with the truck very well . My rear springs are 200# and need to be 130-150# . Calvert cant make me a set , so bias plys it is . Motor seems to be breaking in nicely . ET has dropped to mid 6.80's . Been looking at Champion wheels and will be funding them through a garage cleanout . Fresh front and rear tires for 2016 .

I also still have the rotator from the 396 and I bought a brand new set of pistons for that set up . The block work should be done by Christmas . Im still unsure about camshaft choice . Hoping to start the season faster at like 6.40's that would put me in the fastest 5 cars in my field .

Been a while since I have been on . Kinda took a break from the racing , but im back to it . Got my 39? motor finished and back from the machine shop It is assembled and ready to go in . This motor is 12.5 to 1 compression and solid roller . Looks like I will also be using a set of fender well headers this season . This combo should make 625 or so . I don't think it will make over 650 .

Also switched to a "w" rear tire over a true and went to a 12" wide wheel . This tire is 11.4" wide vs 10.3" Should allow for more traction and the 60' times have been steady with the bigger tire even with the pump gas motor .

Good to see you making progress hotrod, i see some low on motor E.T'S coming!!!!!
Finally got the s-10 back out after finding out the elastomer on the balancer was separated. Sure helps when trying to get the proper timing. Oh and the little white project is about to begin.

Things were going good and after a 3rd round win I pull back to the trailer and jump on the scooter headed to watch the rest of the round . I get back to the truck and water is everywhere . I top It off and run the water pump ......no leaks . Start it up and it blowing water out between front of head and block . Lost the driver side head gasket . So I load up the yellow truck on a borrowed trailer and truck and haul it home to swap it for the blue truck . Was .001 to a .056 and couldn't get there . Left 6 numbers on the big end! 7.41 on a 7.35 dial. I was about to load up and my buddy wont let me . Bought back in and went 2 more rounds . I was like .038 and he was .027 . I only had .011 and took .013 for the break out . He dumped for the win . Anyway pics .

Heads were unshrouded to 4.100 for 4.125 bore and we used 4.060 gaskets . Smallest was 4.070 so fire ring was in chamber . Once it got enough heat to break the fire ring it pushed compression passed the sealer part of the gasket . Each hole had marks from the chamber edge in the ring . TO get the quench correct we ordered 4.165" .029 . This will be more than enough and only lose 1 CC per hole . Head and block is good . I am about to pull the passenger side head . Ill try and get pics together.
