I started on this for my freinds dad who has had this truck since 77. the truck has had three combinations of moter and tranny. first was ya you guest it stock with a 4 speed. Second was a some sort of aluminum olds moter ? . Thrird was a 231 buick and turbo 350 [ wittch i have for sale cheap ] .
Now it is getting a 4.3 chevy with a 4 barrel and 700r4 tranny with 373 gears and 28.5 inch tires .
I well try to put a littel something about the build everyday , to try and catch up with the accuwel build .here are some starter pics.
the start

Looks like you do good work, but why didn't you just build the blue truck and use yours as a doner? The roof and floor were ready to go.

the blue truck was a after thought and the floor on the edges were it comes to the rockers was rusted worst than the truck we started with . we had a plan for the fire wall on the truck we are working on and would have to start all over .
what we did to the fire wall , was to shave all the high bumps off

kelly's 045.jpg

and install a smooth fire wall like this

so i took the top of the core support off the doner truck . i put a piece of 1by 2 tube and laid it in the channel to tye the two sides together and welded it in , then put the top of the core support on and welded . the bottem rail i used 1by2 .
