i propose a small FRIENDLY contest. I want to help my brother build a small camp trailer, but his truck is almost as small as mine.

in light of this, i have seen lots of trailers available locally, but none within both the weight rating or price range that he can handle.

so i started thinking of designs and came up with this.

i also figure it could be pulled by a LUV if it was light enough (less than 800 LBS total empty weight)

what do you guys think?

this is just one small "teardrop" design that i had in mind, but what do you guys have? pics are always awesome!

we have this small trailer frame at our disposal. measures about 14 feet tip to tail

what about getting a cheap tube roller from harbor freight. some 1" alum sq tube, and build a teardrop frame. then skin it with alum sheeting?

i have seen these so small and light they are basically a bed on wheels

that frame looks fairly sound. i would put a good floor on it and start there. you are only limited by your imagination, skill, and budget.

In that case if it were mine, it might make it up to a flat bed.... forever. (Absolutely no building skills here.)

i thought about doing something like that, but the legal weight limit here before you have to register it is 750 lbs. besides, the suburban while not a bad idea, would be much heavier than that. it's got to be light enough to be pulled by either a Mazda truck or my LUV
