yeah ill get some up today its under my thermostat ..im having problems..my im not geting fuel the bowls fill up but nothing comes out..the guys at KZrider.com are helping me and i have a coolant leak around the bottom of my timming cover...my throtle cable is something else though i snached a bike break cable and ran it through a choke cable housing i got for six bucks and used the ends on my stock cable and it works pretty good a little stiff but it works

the guys at the kz forms are saying that there is no vaccume on the carbs and that because of the preasure in the bowls from the fuel pump it might not work so im going to try gravity fed and see if that works

yes no pump valve or power valve. it works off vacuum only. on mine i pull the choke just a bit turn it over a couple time then it fires right up.... if the motor is already warm it just takes one try... so when you go to start it dont need to push the throttle cable down as it will do noting but move the butterflys , it wont help to start it at all... have you tried running it yet?
oh and the pic of the carbs is he way the R1 are also with 2 vents and 4 drains with 1 fuel in ...

so you are saying that i will pull the fuel from the tank ......i was thinking of having to make a small tank that would feed the carbs like the motorcycle would do...... i have turned it over yes but i there is no fuel coming from the jets.... going to work on it today

here is what i was told.
Quote:
they have no pump jets so if your pumping the throttle all your doing is moving the butterflys. The choke is the sliding bar at the front of the carbs, its not a choke as such but when pulled open it to allow fuel to be sucked directly out of the float bowl through the little holes which are located in front of the butterflys. We usually set the idle mixture screws to 3 - 3.5 turns from fully in, any more than that and it starts to interfere with the cross over between idle circuit and the needle circuit

i am using the R1 fuel pump as it turns on and off automatically depending on fuel pressure and level needed. that way the fuel bowls are always at a constant pressure and level...i dont think there would be a need for a gravity feed but thats just my opinion ...

How did u set up the fuel delivery system? Is it like the picture up above? That idea should work. Is there enough fuel getting to the carbs? Have you adjusted the main jet and etc. to accommodate for the massive difference in displacement?

Also, another thought, Even if u did get it running, I'm not sure if it would run well... From my experience working on older bikes, those bikes don't put out a WHOLE lot of power. I'm not sure if that carb is capable of handling an engine with more than twice the displacement it was designed to handle. What's the inner diameter of the carbs? You might have to get a carb designed for a bigger bike. Not trying to discourage u or anything, just a thought. I could be wrong. lol :)

i cleaned mine and made the jets bigger for the motor and it would not work. i had to take the carbs apart again and i mean really clean them well to get all the varnish off then it worked fine. so clean ,clean and clean. blow all jets and holes out with air if you can...

if it backfired out the carb it is way to lean ... i had to take my main jets from 120 to 175... so if you have not drilled them out yet you need to . find a drill as close to 1.75 mm and drill it out or find a VW bug shop that works on webers and have them resize them ...
