it will be getting the customary SBC swap.some minor body mods like removing the side markers and relocating fuel filler. different wheels for ease of finding tires and what ever else i come up with in the process.

spent a little time working on it today. did rear brakes, put a fuel pressure regulator on it because i installed the wrong fuel pump and the regulator was free, and took 3 cans of flat black to it and got rid of as much of the gold spray paint on it as i could. also orderd a kit for the stock carb.

my friend hooked my up with a complete mid 80's caprice for a donor car but i won't have the money to pay him till end of the month so for now i'm just getting it road worthy so i can drive it to college on rainy days. on sunny days i get to ride my other baby 8)

camera needs batteries i'll get picks of the no gold tomorrow.

Looks much better, are you going to hit the wheels too? I'd just paint the red part.

I have a luv almost identical to your besides the long bed and color.
I found a cheap set of headers for mine. gave it it a little bit more kick out of that 4-banger, also upped my gas mileage.
If your interested let me know and ill point you to the site.

5.0 700r setup.
i'm going to try to use the 700 but if i can't work i out i'm sure i can trade it off for a t350

I have a 5.0 and a 700r4 in mine. Should be up and running a couple days. 700 is pretty much the same as a th350 but it has over drive. Why wouldn't you be able to use it?

yeah i posted that before i did a little site searching. i will be using the 700r4. it actually might be the only thing i can use off the donor car. i'll find out for sure this weekend once i get the engine out and see how much damage the thrown rod did.

will have to have block bored due to cylinder rust in #4 and ring groove at top of cylinder.also needs new cam bearings.
also picked up a 4165 Holley 650cfm dp spread bore
