It looks like a dash cap. I put one on mine back in 1996 and it still looks like that.

yes it is a dash cap... i got it off of ebay for I want to say around 90 bucks and I used filler underneath it to build up the old dash and then used the supplied epoxy to glue it down and books to hold it in place while it was drying. If you notice in the pics I also welded up the old fuel hole and dropped the cell in under the bed too. I like white as well... you know when its clean and you know when its dirty and it is just a flashy color.

I bought the truck with 70k original miles and all documented at that... it has every work reciept from its oil changes to clutch adjustments to points replacements etc from 1978 to 2002 when the original owner passed away. He traded in a 66 vw bug for it in july of 78. It is a factory ac truck and I still have the original owners manual for the push button am/fm radio too.. It even has the original window sticker that the truck came with too. I am so glad to be back in a luv. I have had several through the years but I am keeping this one for good. till death do me part lol. I have replaced the head gasket so far on the truck as well as all the original shocks, I put the cell in it because one year I know it will be small blocked and tubbed. I also replaced factory wheels etc.... the interior has not been completed yet but that will be happening this winter. I hope you all enjoy... any questions just ask and I will be glad to get back with ya. Thankyou guys for all the help along the way from Catmandu's parts that he has supplied because I just had to have that mikado edition wheel and all the little things like the old boy from I believe its AZ that has the multi colored 4x4 that done the great write up on the head gasket swap... thankyou all

Your truck looks awesome, I would about beat you up for that am/fm radio you have. It looks like your truck was nicely optioned. any chance your truck came with those crazy stripes?

Roadshow... when you ask about the crazy stripes I am assuming you mean before I painted it... the answer is yes... I have the paperwork that shows it was a factory option as well

Up on the pics of the documentation it shows the price on the radio to back what I am saying... that was a pretty hot option for a luv but most wouldn't spend the money. I have yet to ever see a stripe package that was that detailed. Typically you have the bland' stipes but those were pretty unique. Its hard for me to tell you as that was 32 years ago
