I have been working on these tailgate letters for a few months and the rain helped me get them finished today. I couldn't find any for a 72-74 Luv, so I had to make them.

Nice job. My 78 needs letters also. But it will probably get restored and painted before it gets letters.

Well here is the third set of wheels I have bought for the Luv. Thanks Fabian (ethelkilledfred) for letting these go. I still need tires and am thinking about pulling the lowering blocks. They really change the look of the truck.

I finally got around to putting in my flexthru window, I need a new seal for sure. I took it for a cruise and I don't miss the rattling sliding window at all. Plus I can see out the back window much better.

This is some serious recycling here. I have been grinding on this hood for a week to get to this point. I still need a little bondo and finish work, but it has come a long way. I am officially in the hood of the month club now. I have always wanted a louvered hood, it just took me 30 years to get one!

Looks good. I like the look of hoods like that, my wife does not, we compramised and did it her way. How is the 76 doing, is it parted out or is there plans to put it on the road?

Thanks Karl & Hotrod80

The 76 is still a project, working on my tilt front end right now. The "Honey Do" list has been eating at my Luv Life though...

If it helps you out pm me your wifes number, I will be happy to tell her you need more time and money for the LUV's and less time working around the house on her concerns.

I decided to put the stock hood back on for winter. I had picked up some new hood hinges a while back and swapped them out too. The hinges on my truck were jacked up by someone with a grinder in the past. I decided to swap the headlights & grill with the parts truck while I was at it. Sure enough my 72 has a 78 or newer core support. It has screw holes for either style of headlight buckets and one fender even had the screw holes for the headlight bezel bracket. I have never had anything swap over so easy + I still have high beams. I'm not sure if I like it or not but will leave it for now. The parts truck got a makeover too.

I picked up some fresh meat for the Luv today. Tires rubbing over every bump too. It is a 350 4 bolt main, story goes it is from an unfinished project rebuilt and never fired up. So far it plays out, but the guy bolted dirty parts back onto the fresh block. I'm going to pull the intake and see where I am on it. I was hoping for an RV cam at least. I could see brand new pistons in the plug holes.

Any guess on the HP difference going from a 307 with a 2BBL to a 350 with a Q-jet?

I pulled the intake last night. Clean as a whistle just like I was hoping. The lifters look new and the cam is either new or a fresh regrind. I need some fresh orange paint and I will start putting it back together. I've been looking for an aluminum water pump and intake to put on too.

Yeah, I was happy when I read about the 882's having 1.94 valves also. I was originally going to rebuild my 307 but the more I read about them the more I wanted a 350. 8)
