I finally found some seats I liked for a great price. They have a few little pinholes from some welding slag but just right for my luv. I was told they were BMW M1 seats but they have been redone at some point. After more googling the seats are from a 325I. They will clean up well but the headrests had to go. I wanted suspension seats but I have to keep the budget down on the endless project. I can finish the install on the e-brake now and want to add some carpet after I get it all cleaned up.

To my amazement the outer bolt holes matched the seat rails perfectly. I just need to drill the inside holes and make 1 spacer.

Old Rob came to the rescue today with some tech support on the phone. I was stuck installing the axle with the new bearing and seal. He got me back on track and my truck back on wheels. It has been a learning experience just getting a bearing replaced. The step side is gone and its back to the original bed. I did not want to repaint my truck right now for many reasons.

I had a full week to detail out the traction bars and brakes at least on this side. I'll be doing the other side this week.

I got the E brake installed today after finishing up the floor. Ready for the bed to go back on finally.

Yeah, I wanted satin paint but they only had gloss. It will have carpet over it anyway.

I got the seats mounted along with mocking up the aluminum panels from the 76 for the back of the cab. I'm going to get the bed on tomorrow, then pull the seats and put in the carpeting and seat belts. I got to drive it a bit today which helps keep me motivated. 8)

I picked up a new air cleaner today too. I wasn't sure the hood would clear it but it did. I think when I get the q-jet on it will sit lower too. I couldn't pass it up for $15

Good lookin build. I prefer the stepside, but the 72 straight bed looks good too with the lights on the bottom. Good job.

Thanks guys. I liked the stepside too, but I didn't want to hassle with the paint right away. I still have to do the motor.

The bed went on really easy today and I am kicking back for a while... 8)

The headers and mufflers are on my truck, so in a way Ben your truck is still alive.

I cleaned the plugs opened the gap a bit and its running so nice right now. The 3.0 gear lets me cruise at 2500 rpm on the freeway. I polished the wheels over the last week and I am digging them even more. I hate to tear it all apart but that oil burner 307 has to go. I have the 355 pulled back out and I am ready to start on it.

I have been cruising it around quite a bit

I pretty much just moved the e-brake along with the 9 inch from another truck so I didn't do too much fabrication on this. I did think while installing it that the stock Luv e-brake could have been made to work with the same handle if you tried.
