So I moved it form Stock Trucks to the project/builds section. While I was deciding what color to paint my truck I started to clean my garage at my house so that I could move the luv home and get it out of the mud trap that is my friends house. I found a old Wile E. Coyote Stuffed toy. It reminded me of my Dad's truck that he had because Wile would sit in the back window. It was a 1994 Chevy truck it was Black and red. I walked up to my dad and asked what he thought if I dedicated my truck to his. He had to get rid of it due to finacial problems at the time. He thought it was a great idea and was excited.

The Luv is being painted with Rattle Can. We aren't doing the poor mans way but then at the same time we are. To start the project off we took the 4x4 off the hood primered the first coat then sanded it down to where it was almost smooth then we reprimered it and then sanded that again to where it was smooth we took the bed off because we were going to replace it decided to instead keep the numbers matching and decided to attemp to fix the three holes. For the carpet I got red pre molded carpet from JC Whitney just looking at it, it wont cover all the floor so below the carpet we are putting in spray in bed liner from Wal Mart. Going to attempt at reupholstering the seat and the door panels myself. There is a person on here who says he has referished a dash I figured what do I have to loose and will try to do the same. I'm going to keep the orignal radio in there for looks.

There is not to much to do with the engine, already did some of the tune ups new spark plug wires, spark plugs, got a new ignition coil, I have 4 reverse switches one on the transmission that I believe is broken because when I put it into revese it blows a 15 amp fuse. I have two fuses not getting any power at all I go to start the luv it will fire off then once I let go of the key it dies. So I have some wiring problems but other than that it runs fine goes forward just fine.

Started off with

Then Sanded

Then the first coat of primer

Then Its ready for paint except for the bed...

Took the bed off and started gutting it out.

Sorry for the blurry not so good pictures forgot the camera had to use cell phone

I'm trying to get the luv done as fast as possible but still with good quality or semi good quality. We are mainly trying to paint it right now then we were going to dive into the wiring problem. We have it at the point to where we can start it and go forward just fine.

Ok so for the wiring, I went on here had got the pictures of the wiring diagrams. If I'm reading them right 1 2 and 3 are connected, 4 and 5 are connected then there is the 6th fuse. So I did the 12 volt tester on all the fuses 1 2 3 have power all the time 6 has power when its on then there is 4 and 5 that never have power. I tried starting it up it would start up but once I let go of the Key it dies, so I took a small thing of wire and hooked it up with 4 and 5 now it starts and runs then once I put it in reverse it blows the number 6 fuse and the engine dies. I know that the engine dies because there is no power to numbers 4 and 5. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

Today I got some work done on the luv not so much wiring but mainly painting. Got the hood sanded and primered one more time still wasn't as smooth as we wanted it decided to just paint it and it turned out alright not as smooth as the fenders look but still look good from a few feet away  So then took the bumper off so we could paint the front. I went to walmart to get some chrome paint cost me like 5 bucks went home and decided to paint all the Luv and Mikado emblems they didn't turn out like I thought they would but put them up against the fenders and ended up likeing how they looked with the flat black and I think I may just paint the rest of the chrome things on the luv with it.

I found that I can get a little better spray quality with one of those snap on handles that attach to rattle cans. My finger usually ends up hurting after a bit, but the snap on handles gives you a squirt bottle type trigger. Just somethin' to consider.

So I put the Luv on stands yesterday and got under it was looking for the switch that I thought was reverse I don't know what it was but it looked like the reverse switch but wasn't then saw the reverse switch and found out that it wasn't even plugged in! so I decided that I will put a new reverse switch in just to try it if it doesnt change anything I'm going to start wire serching. Then painted a little more and put the front clip back together for the most part.

I unplugged that and started it up and put it in reverse and it went so now I have reverse!

So got the rest of the cab painted this weekend had two cans of paint break if they hadn't it would be completely done... cab wise. Put a coat of spray bed liner from walmart in the cab then going to put carpet over that. I bought the premolded one and it wont cover it all so everything it doesn't cover will be for the bed liner.

I like how the Inside of the cab turned out. I was thinking about taking out the head liner and just painting it black to go with the rest of the truck.

The front clip all back together :D

It is actually from JC Whitney it was one of there pre molded carpets It didn't have anyclips to hold it in place so we improvised with some of the clips that were there and a knife.
