well hopefully good news, theres a guy about 40 minutes away from me that has 2 chevy luvs that he's parting out and he said i could get the whole front end off the 1980 for about $250. theres no chance in hell im passing this up! :D

ok, im at a stump so i have a question. the whole front end, what would i need to take it off? i know the core support is welded to part of it, but i was wondering if i could just pull that off simple with the other parts that im getting. like i said, im stummped. help please?

You will need spot weld drills/cutters and cut all the spot welds out then do the same to the replacement part then weld it back together or cut the core support out and just bolt the replacement one in.

thats what im thinking about doing, just cutting out the core support on the other truck and welding it to my truck. its sad seeing it off the road. people are wondering where the "luv" is

There not cheep but get good spot weld cutters and patience you will get it to look like it was never done . You will probably need to get them from a tool sales truck or a tool vendor that supplies body shops.

well the school i go to the suto body room is right across from me, im going to let him do the welding and other body stuff because i could'nt find my way around an autobody shop. i figured i would just fix the internal and he would fix the external :smt102

hopefully going to pick up the donor truck this friday or saturday :ebiggrin its a 1980 chevy luv 2wd, he says that everything is with it besides the door latches... hmm... maybe after i fix my daily driver i may start a new project or part it out. who knows though may just keep it for parts
