this weekend was nice, unfortunately unforseen difficulties kept me from doing very much to the luv. but i did get the rear frame almost ready for paint, and by paint i mean rattle can just to make it look better. anyway will post pics on next days off

Good... anything to keep the rust at bay!

Do you have the engine that you're putting in it yet?

since we live close {kinda} me and dr_frankenstein are doin some horse tradin.
i am putting a 350 in it and got a block and i even got it to move so i am a little more hopeful now.
got a line on a 700 r4 tranny.
what i want is to go real fast for a long time not just short bursts! :)
but also be able to take it on the strip since its just down the road from me

ok i know i havent updated in a while so here goes......

had a pretty good weekend this time around, well other than sustained 45 mph winds gusts to 60+.

decided it was long over due time to go for a drive, so packed up the wife and gearhead friend of mine, left the kids with babysitter and drove down to las cruces, nm, to meet dr_frankenstien56.
and i must say it was the highlight of my weekend! sometimes in this world we live in now a days you get run over, beaten down, just thoroughly want to give up and become a recluse because everyone is out for number 1 and dont care who they screw over to get there. well this weekend i found out there still are good people in the world these days. i am very happy to have met dr frankenstien, and was completely disappointed that we had to leave so soon. we only got to stay for a few hours as its a 3 1/2 hr drive each way. :( babysitter would not have been happy!
cant wait for him to start a thread for his build.

anyway, glad to have a new friend and hope to meet more folks from this site especially if they are anything like him!

as for my truck, the wind finally calmed down enough for me to go outside and do some work. mainly to the bed i did a bunch of sanding and some primering.

here are some pics

2 words: f*cking rain!!!! really beginning to hate my days off! work all week night shift and its sunny all day long get my 2 days off and it rains the entire time!
and by the way so you dont ask why i dont work on it after work, i work 14 hr shifts 7 days on 2 days off
i did however buy a few cans of paint with my tax return so if it is ever gonna be nice on my days off then i can get the rear painted and the bed back on so i can start tearin apart the front.

i know you guys are thinkin im a wuss and wont work in the rain, but the vast majority that i have to do right now is sand and paint. and having no shelter makes it kind of impossible.once i get this part done i will have plenty i can do in the rain

S10 rear is 1/2" inch wider on each side.

Few new pics. Put 3 coats of spray on bedliner on bottom and wheel wells of bed. Hopefully that prevents any rust coming thru
