I wasn't going to start a thread for this truck but it looks like I am going to hang onto it so what the heck. I haven't had a stock Luv since 1983 so the G180 is something I am not that familiar with. I didn't know much in the 80's about working on cars and trucks, I mostly drove the crap out of them. I stumbled on this truck on Craigslist and it hadn't ran in 2 years but was all there. A young guy owned it and said he had replaced the fuel pump and filters and couldn't get it to run anymore. A mechanic didn't help, so it sat. The motor is supposed to have been rebuilt and the clutch was replaced also. It came with a spare G180 that also looks to have been rebuilt at some point too. I charged up the 2 year old battery and poured in some gas and she fired up then died. I found fuel got right up to the carb but none was getting in the float bowl. Using the forum I found the thread about the fuel inlet valve sticking. 5-6 taps to the inlet valve and she fired up without a splash of gas. I have been driving it up and down the street for the last week or so and it runs like a top. All it needs at this point is tires and a smog check. I found a ton of receipts in the glove box from the owner before the last guy for a new trans and clutch, paint job (1999) and interior. The paint looks like my blue one did when I got it so I think I can polish it out a bit. It is a Maaco paintjob and it is a thin coat of paint. I did sell the perfect rear bumper to lower my purchase expense but I have an old dirtworks bumper for it on my trailer. So far it is fun to play with and seems like a pretty good truck to work with.
