Sorry, I can't really help with a non-stock alternator.

I used the entire diesel wiring harness including the alternator and only changed connectors to match the '75. Consequently the only alternator related wiring change I made was for the charging indicator on the dash.

This won't change your answer, but his alternator IS stock. ;) The S10 diesel used a GM/Delco alternator with no vacuum pump. Probably the same one used in the gas S10 of the same year.

Oh on the contrary. It just so happens that I am an S10 alternator specialist. All that is needed to make this work is to cut the ingoing yellow wire and splice in the outcoming green wire while making sure to reverse the flow of current in the larger white wire ( I usually use two diodes in parallel for this). That should do it.

O.K. Maybe it won't actually change my answer but it was fun all the same. :D And thanks JoeIsuzu for enlightening me on the differences. Now I'm curious about the lack of vacuum pump but I'll research that on my own.
