now that is a badass swap,
i have considered alot of different engine swaps but that is by far the best i have heard so far! how much has that setup run you so far??
well how much was the engine and transmission combo alone?

Well the engine was $150 with a spun bearing.
Machining & balancing with forged internal was about $2100
Gasket seals pumps belts....... $650
Trany was $860
ECU and wiring $225

That is most of it so far still need a few more things
Turbo $1000
Injectors $500
Tuning $600

I hope it will fit I'm still not a 100% that it will. :?

holy hell talk about you big budget builds!
i dont see any reason why it wouldnt fit there is quite a bit of area under the hood of those lil trucks... man... those subies sure do scoot around pretty quick and have a great sound to em especially with turbo, if i had that much money to throw at my LUV i would be considering a similar swap but as it is now im more concerned with getting a 5 speed for my G180 and eventually doing a custom turbo setup (buy a lightly used turbo and adjustable BOV and make my own turbo exhaust manifold and 2 1/4" exhaust system) add a G161 head to boost compression a bit more and hopefully get that lil truck over 125 on the highway.
yay for cheap budget builds

hmm...LUV/Subaru hybrid LUVARU  that should be quite the get up and go rig... lightweight horizontally opposed high performance engine in a LIGHT stylish LUV body. sounds like a dream
hmm you should look into getting some WRX LUV decals made
LUVARU

have you already mocked the drivetrain in?

how much boost you planin on runnin? im gettin ready to do the comitec gasket swap and am gonna set for 15psi. these trucks are so light you dont see max boost for too long unless your seriously mashing on them.

I have not mocked any thing up besides doings some measurements but the engine sould be finished by nextg weekend so then I will drop it in and see how it is alll going to fit.

I plan on max boost of about 25-30 psi on E85 for racing and 20 for day to day.
My wagon with stock inturnals that I drive evey day is running 18 at about 4800 rpm with peak 280whp

The truck is just going to be stupid. I think as so as I hit full boost the truck is just going to go sideways.

Next year I will do the suspension to try to get the power down and striaght.

I'm not sure which FPR or pump I'm going to use but I'm going with a inline pump I know that much and it is going to be a big one becasue I will be running 1000cc injectors.

Well the motor is almost done need to put the timing belt and timing belt cover on. Then I'm going to just sit the intake on and bolt the tanny to it and start trying to put the motor in and building the mounts.

No thanks I'm looking for a little bigger. The FP 68HTA is what I'm looking at but still doing some research.

Long block done :D
I started to put the motor in and it looks like the battery tray needs to go and the E brake cable might be in the way of the up pipe for the turbo.

So I started to put the motor in today. Had to massage the inner fenders a little and had to pull the steering column to get the motor in.

It still sits a little high. The mounts for the steering rack are in the way.

I also made some plugs for the fronts axles holes in the tranny.
