Well a few posts back a talked about "triangulating" my lower control arms and there were some questions about it. So today I did a Lil work on them and here's what I came up with so far. Not done yet.

First I started with a small piece of 1/8 inch plate and welded it to the arm where the new piece of the arm is going to connect

Image

Then I lined up the pivot points on the original arm and the new piece I am adding with a piece of 1/2 inch all thread. Both pieces of the arm must pivot in a straight line together as one or the arm will bind throughout travel

Image

Then go ahead and weld them up with the all thread still going through both pieces. I will post pics of the brackets I am putting on the frame for the new piece tomorrow

Well I needed new tie rods for my truck and called moog and they no longer manufacture or carry tie rods for the luv. So I started checking out some tie rods from different vehicles for same length and taper. I found out that 68 through 74 chevy nova tie rods work perfect.

Inner is a moog#es681n

Adjusting sleeve #es350s

Outer#es381r

Good new and bad news! The good news is that the truck is looking awesome. The bad new is that even though it looks awesome the engine blew up. So I just started on another engine. Hope to have it done by the end of the week. And I got a new intake manifold since mine was a Lil taller than I liked
