what about voltage?should that stay constant as well? because it ran fine when we tested it up front with the pump wired directly to the battery.

here is some updates for y'all, I ended up having a bad f.p. relay so I wired it to the fuse box and battery.lowered it just over 2".tore out the home carpet lol, surface rust, they don't salt the roads in oregon.used some naval jelly on the rust and getting ready to wire wheel it down a little and primer.needed a longer kick down cable, auto trans.found one,700 r4 I think.got to fab a mount and spring for that.oh yeah got some buckets out of a vw. they mount weird, the slider mech. must be part of the v.w. frame not the seat,so they wont slide once I get them in but for 27$ it will do. here's some pics.Image

Rust, that just looks like a little discoloration. Looks solid. Has anyone tried that POR 15 paint.

por 15 is awesome stuff... you do have to get rid of existing rust for it to work properly. but once you get it on and it sealed you can put it in the ocean for years and take it out and there wont be a speck of rust

well I bought it out of portland not running for 200.00$,i then towed it back to eugene which ended up costing about $200.00 after dolly rental, food, gas and a trailer wirering harness for my buddy's truck.I put a new carb on it and bypassed the fuel pump relay and bingo she runs!so all told about $600.00! Either come back to Oregon or have someone pick one up for you here, they are on craigslist all the time,I think we are the luv capitol of the world!!
