Excellent job on this truck, and also the first one with the 305 700r4 as far as that goes.

Off topic, what rims are on your Silverado? Motometal? I need some for mine and there are not many styles I like anymore, but those look good! 8)

20x10 method race wheels. "The standard" is the name I think. The white silverado has the same wheels, but 17x8.5"

Also cut the hood and instead of dzus fasteners i went with these.. http://www.quik-latch.com/

I still need to do a little cleaning up of my cuts on the hood. Hoping this weekend the tune will be dialed in.

Yeah they have some nice cars and trucks out. She will miss the truck but loves the car just as much. My buddy Carl has been doing the tune. He works at a plant and works a ton so he can't make it down here very often, but he does it for free so im patient. No dyno yet. I would like to dyno it soon, curious as to what kind of power it makes.

Killer build!
(I noticed it was for sale)
Hate to see it go. Hopefully, whoever buys it continues the path.. making it one of the baddest LUV's I have seen :)

Yes that tranny has maybe 500 miles on it. I think im gonna give him one more go round with rebuilding it. Need to call him and see what he will do. He told me it wouldnt hold up to the new motor, but i know guys with 60e's running more power in heavier vehicles then me that has lasted a bunch of passes and a bunch of street miles.

You should build a 65e. That way you have a stouter trans without the excess driveline loss of an 80e. My brother used to own a LS performance shop in DFW and built countless 65e's that'd hold any n/a build. He put a 65e on a c6 that made 495 whp on stock ls2 short block, angle milled stock port ls3 top end and a .635/.635 cam. They then put a 200 shot and it still survived very well. You should definitely look into a 65e and probably a different trans guy cause a 60e should hold a lot better than 500 miles. I assume quite a few of those were tuning miles too. I know a lot of the builds he did were full size trucks and they seemed to hold well on the stock 60e.
Have you had yours dynoed yet? Total weight?

truck weighs 3050 pounds without me in it.. a 60 and 65 are the same basically, 65e came with a few better parts from factory IIRC but once a 60e is built, and a 65e is built, they are the same.

Unless the internals are upgraded to 65e planetary set I would think it'd be inferior but I do see what you mean by once fully built it should all be the same. You should definitely be able to get a built 60e/65e to hold up in a lightweight truck if built properly. Maybe the parts he's installing are just duds. If there's a lemon I usually end up with it. Maybe your having the same problem. Is he going to warranty it?
