If you use NPT fittings on that trans you might crack the housing.

I believe the 4L60E's (as well as other trans) came with 1/4 in.-18 NPSM. In other words, straight thead, sometimes used for hydraulics and brake lines. The fittings are usually installed with a copper sealing washer.

If you screw in a taper thread (NPT), you can crack the case because your wedging a taper in a straight hole.

The best part is, it may also be fine today, and then crack one day when it's really hot.

awesome build. you build has me super motivated. next week im gonna v8 swap and body my 74. i only have 2 weeks to finish mine though since its my daily. but all your pictures have been very helpful
