haven't kept much of a tally.. but between both trucks, frame, all the old stuff i had on only truck, all the new stuff.. id bet 10k or more. i added up several of the big items i bought and it got up to 8k.. then all the little stuff i bought.. hell i spent 800$ this week on it so far. i dont like keeping track cause i realize its way to much damn money for a damn 600$ truck

i still have to find a 6.0 or 6.2..
truck wiring harness
engine wiring harness
finish brakes front and rear
rear end needs axles, posi..
finish air suspension.. not much left there
gauges
ac
windshield gasket
drive accessories
tranny built
driveshaft
limiting straps..

thats just a rough list.. gah!

$$$ yes. But still cheaper something from someone else and get who knows what. You know every nut and bolt on it. It is essentially NEW now. Best of all it is exactly what you want and you did it yourself!

I agree on the building, not bought part (I could never buy someone elses customized vehicle) BUT I have to disagree on the cheaper part. You WILL NEVER (not that it matters to a lot of us) get out of these trucks what you put into them, esp going the custom route. They will never be the way of the 60's-70's muscle cars. I have easily over $12,000 in mine and doubt I would ever be lucky to get $4,000 out of it. The reason I asked how much he has into it, was I looking at the $12K I have in mine (built in the 80's) and he has done tons more to his already then I ever did to mine and he still has paint and interior to go. I would say easily he will have over $20K in it when it is done. My post was no knock on Wicked in any way, just really curious what the tally was so far, I know when I get to the point of finally be able to redo mine (My 39 is first in line though), I will be a lot of money again. Wicked Mayhem is one of the few here I really respect for actually doing something to his LUV, I see way to many with big dreams saying I am going to do this and that, then after a couple of months, its all forgot about because reality hits. And best of all he is doing just like my sig says. Keep up the awesome work!!!!

I will say that the front hubs I bought from Wicked was top notch work (and look bitchen on my truck), I cant wait to see the truck done.

What happened to the other frame Wicked, someone close should have been all over that thing?

yep definately wont see near what i will have into it.. and yeah ill probably have the amount you said into the thing by the time it nears completion. and i know you were not knocking me, i was hoping no one asked so i didnt have to know  . but hell, i dont plan on getting rid of the truck, and ive always wanted to build a truck from the ground up. Now is my time, and im am by no means buying the most expensive parts, but i am also not cheaping out and buying this and that "for now" to get it running. i am not in a rush to get it done, but i would love to have it "driveable" by summer. as in, no ac, no interior(only gauges, seats, the stuff to drive the truck) but we will see how that goes. And i appreciate the kind words, it sucked back when i had my first luv, looking at old build threads and died off fast.. LUV trucks are kind of popping up a little more in the minitruckin scene, but none laying body on skinny/fattys

I wish i could take credit for the hubs, but thats my dads handywork. hes a damn good machinist!

other frame.. someone on here(forgot his s/n) was supposed to pick it up.. then got delayed a few weeks, i never heard anything back from him, so i cut it up in chunks and got rid of it.

no, but it appears to be popular one to take pics of hahaha

me and some friends went to junkyard today and my buddy showed me these locks. i love em. so we yanked em off. i sprayed some wd-40 on them and got the covers moving smooth. i had to cut off the arm on the backside that is supposed to attatch to the door lock mechanism. it will need to be modified. but i am going to take them to a locksmith and see if he can cut a key for them first. if not.. they will just look good in there.. i to modify the hole for them.

seats all mounted. i have the covers that goes on the sides, i just need to put them back on.
Image
the tubing will be boxed in and bolts welded to them so they drop in like factory and i just run nuts up the bottom
Image
quite a bit on room behind them. i plan on a 2 or 4 channel amp, and then run a wire off it for my ipod. no radio for me.
Image
and just a pic lol
