hey guys! i got my 80 4x4 and it does not have a steering dampener. ive got a 79 4x4 for parts and it does have one. would it be woth it to pull it off my parts truck and put it on the runner? how would it help? what does it do? can it be replaced with a shock? im planning on buying new skyjacker shocks all the way around would i need a 5th shock? or is it special?

It's special, you would need to buy a dampener, not a shock. I'd say that it would be worth while to put it on your 80, it would reduce the kick back from the wheels, and also improve the on-road handling a bit.
