grab a Trooper, Amigo, or 87< Pup, try to find one that had the 2.6L 4ZE1 and the MUA5 5-speed manual tranny. you could swap in the engine and tranny and the rear axle as well. Or better yet if the body on the donor is trashed but the frame is good, just swap the Luv body onto the Isuzu frame, that way you get a beefier front end as well, and alot more options as far as lift kits go.

not all the Isuzus have the beefier front end. I know that atleast through 86 the trooper fronts end is the same as the LUV. I would guess this is the same for the Pups as well. If you see the strut rods (rods that run from the lower controll arms to the frame under the radiator) then its the same front end as the luvs.

Hence the reason to grab one that has the 2.6 and the MUA5, if you got those two your garenteed to have a 10 bolt up front and a 12 bolt in the rear

Now why didn't you guys imply the swapping of frames before I spent so much effort cleaning and painting my up???

I'm just going to junk my 86 Trooper here pretty soon since my LUV is going to be road worthy this summer.

also another way to tell if you can only see the frame is if the front had full A arms on the bottom then its the better front end. Also 12bolt rears will have disc brakes on em.
