They did, but they don't make it any more. you might still be able to get an Aussie locker for it.

215x75r15's seem to be the tire of choice for us 4x4 guys, I'm running them, but in the BFG A/T KO flavor

Yea, they should remake the posi kit. They'd get plenty of customers off this site.

Since I went to the bigger tire, my spare is the same size and I cant put under the bed since it will be to close to the exhaust. I'll have to wait
till I can modify it, for now its the back of the bed. :D

215x75R15s or 235x75R15s are a good choice. I've run both those sizes, and my favorite thing about them was LT rated tires available in A LOT more tread patterns.

Right now I've got 215s on, no body lift, little no suspension lift (prior owner could have done a couple turns on the torsions) and I don't rub unless I'm crawling across deep ruts. Stock 86 Trooper steel wheels. It is close though, 235s would probably hit fairly often even on the same wheel.

I've got some 215s on wider wheels with less back spacing, they hit sitting still just turning the steering wheel. It just takes the right wheel so they tuck in nicely.

The 215's I have now did rub a little at full lock, but after I did the t-bar crank I got rid of that problem. I'm looking to maybe get some Isuzu "Snowflakes" which are 15x7 w/ i believe a neutral offset. some 235's on them and they'd look pretty darn good.

Oh Zane, aren't you lucky. My dad lives in Grass Valley. I just love it up there. We were planing to move up there somewhere in 4 years, after my youngest graduated, but now I have this new job that would be stupid to leave. So I guess we are here until retirement age.

Its nice area if you like the outdoors. Funny you mention your job, I'm working at getting a 3D graphics job, meaning I'll be moving away from here, but change is good. :D

I think it'd be cool if the come out with a Posi Kit for the Luv rear-end. =-)

You can put the LSD into a luv rear axle out of an early Trouper. Or even swap the whole axle over. You have to check its the right ratio of course theres two, 4.555 and 4.777. But you could swap the whole front diff as well.

Im not sure how it worked over there, here all the Troupers from 81-84 had the LSD and then from 85 it became an option. It changed to bigger diffs in 88 when the 2.6L 4ZE1 motor was introduced. The front diff was then the same size as the old rear diff.

The Impulse with the 5 link rear end also had the same banjo diff centre and here all the manuals had LSD and the autos got the open centre. Both were 3.9 ratio and im not sure if the low ratio gears will go on them but they do have the same spline axles.

Its not a posi kit but its something.

we didn't get the Trooper over here until 84 and unfortunatly they didn't come with the LSD, the Impulse diffs will work, same thing with the later Troops got the 10/12 bolt combo with the 2.6, over here we got 4.30,4.56, 4.77, and the after market makes some 5.38's (very hard to get ahold of as they don't make them any more)

That 5.38 is out of and early one of these, Shuttle Bus.

They used the same diff but with a wider track, probably the same as the Impulse.

The ratios are just a play on two or three different pinion counts with two different crown wheels.

I wouldnt mind a 3.73 that you lot got in the autos to use in my luv. The 4.1 i got out of the 4 speed diesel will have to do i suppose.

Cheers. Bob.
