1980 4x4 luv, just curious how many leafs are suppose to be in the spring pack? I am not sure if one leaf was removed or not, looks like the spring clips have a decent gap between them and the leafs.

I am lifting my pickup soon, and I already have a Rancho add-a-leaf kit. The truck sags pretty badly when I have a decent load of camping gear and water, so been trying to figure how much much leafs and lift I need to do.

Thanks all!

Just curios, what will you be doing to the front of the truck to lift it?

If you had asked yesterday I could have went outside and looked while my daughter was here. :( I check next time she is here if no one else answers before that.

From what I can tell in the factory book, 4X4 79 and 80 should have 4 leafs.

Springs went from 5 to 4 leafs with the '78 model year, to what they termed the "soft ride" suspension. This includes the short reverse-arch overload bottom leaf.
I swapped in some '77 5-leafs packs, then added a helper spring, then two more long leafs from a Ford pickup for eight total before I got it where I wanted it for ride height, stiffness & load capacity. It takes over a ton before it contacts the bump stops.

File comment: Hickory firewood, springs are just flat, not bottomed.

Going to turn up the torsion bars. The front is already higher than the rear. I am running 235/75/15 tires that rub a bit, they were about $100 cheaper then the 215/75/15s I had on it. I am not looking to lift this thing sky high, just maybe 2 or less over stock.

I am pretty sure I have 4 leafs. Good to know, I thought maybe one was removed at one time. This Rancho add-a-leaf should give me the height I need.

Thanks for the info all!
