I see a lot of 'tips' on cranking the bars up or down (depending on 2wd/4wd) for lifting/lowering the LUV. on my 80, it has a splined end on the torsion bar, much like a torx bit but with more splines. Forgive the lack of technical jargon in this, the last one I did had a hex head thus nothing harder than penetrating oil, a grease pen and a big ol' wrench and cheater. In this case, I know WHAT to do but not HOW... seeing that I'm not sure what to do in regards to turning this odd little splined setup to crank the bars for an extra inch or two... can anyone out there help?

The adjuster is on the very rear of the torsion bar, it's a large hex head bolt pointing up. Take the weight off the front suspension, lube the bolt, tighten to raise, loosen to lower, one full turn equals about 1/4" change in ride height.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for, maybe I brainfarted - but I found it right off the bat. What would people advise as a good crank without needing much alignment correction? 1-2"? less?

The more crank the more the camber changes, if it isn't aligned back to within specs the edge of the front tires will wear & your steering also changes.

If you brake a torsion bolt let me know I have extra haha only because it happend to me once. And when those torsion bars brake loose it is mighty scary.

Right, thanks... figured that much out. I've done some eyeball alignments in the past and then taken them in the be 'finalized' in which they've told me there was too little to be done to make it worth their time. SO, I'm hoping I can still produce such results this time
