picked up these trooper wheels and firestone tires for $200 total then had an old customer of my who owns a tire shop mount and balance them for me on barter. I had the factory 4x4 LUV center caps and they fit perfect! i think the only thing im going to do now is add a set of beauty rings to make it pop. tires are 225/70r15. any bigger and theyd prob rub but these seem to be perfect for stock height trucks. the truck sits level but the pics make it look like it sags in the back. its just an illusion. i still havent anymore since it was kinda pointless to work on a truck that had tires that wouldnt hold air for more than a couple hours. i plan to bring it home and clean the tank over the weekend then it should be ready to roll. ive already put points wires plugs cap rebuilt the carb and have a new battery also.

Looks a lot better with those wheels and tires. Any other plans for the truck or is it just getting the usual tlc?
I dont get why the rear wheels are always so far inward on these trucks theres plenty of room for them
Im holding out for a pair of these trooper wheels

I really like those wheels too. I am just going to get it up to proper running condition so I can have it as an extra truck while I fix my Sonoma and build my white truck then decide from there. I never really thought about what my future plans would be for it. I think I'm going to keep it pretty simple and enjoy it for what it is.

Pretty much all 4x4 have the rear tires inward more then the front to help with traction off road. My blazer is the same way. If you had the track the same front and rear then you would end up with the rear tires following the same ruts as your front. A lot of modern lift kits come with spacers for the rear to make the track the same for appearance purposes.

There is someone on Portland craigslist with a set of five of those wheels they've been trying to sell for a while.

I know this is off subject but the 4x4 stripes on the bed, hood, and tailgate is that painted on or is it decals/stickers? I ask because I'm restoring a 4x4 and I want to do the blue with those stripes. Thanks
