I am trying to swap a v8 into a 4x4 1978 luv. I just do not know what tranny/transfer case goes with it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, i need to find out what motor/ tranny mounts would be best.

Try powerbyace.com for motor mount brackets. But a th350,th400 or 700r4 would work or nv4500. You will have to make your transmission crossmember work and a np208 241 or even a 205 , would work for transfer case but they all will hot torsion bar and mount with stock suspension.so ether change suspension or get a clicking doing to drop your t case to clear. You will need a small high torque starter and a custom oil pan to clear the front axle. A body lift helps too.

LUV 4X4's only came factory starting in 1979.
