So I'm gonna convert my 1979 mikado 4x4 to straight axel here soon I'm picking up a pair of Dana axels (d30 front d44 rear out of a cj model jeep..I was wondering if anybody knew if the luv stock drivelines bolt up to the jeep diff yokes and how much the Luvs stock front driveline spline joint extends?

Any help is much appreciated

Dana diffy's use Spicer yokes & u-joints, LUV's don't. You'll have to have both driveshafts modified.

Drive shaft work should not scare you off. Any good driveline business should not have a problem doing this.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Dana 30's are turds. I would go with yota axles. What leaf springs are you going with? What steering box?

Yea as for the yokes iv got an idea ...there's also a driveline shop here that I hear is good

I'm going with a Dana 30 iv done oodles of research on them and feel completely confident in them

I'm going with skyjacker soft ride leafs most likely ..I want a soft ride ..I'm aiming for a practical beast of a luv without a huge lift and huge tires ..I'm sticking with my 29 1/2x9.5 mts and pitting the frame at 18 inches from the ground

In that case, a dana 30 will be plenty. May want to look into toyota rear springs out front. Cheap, common, and work very well. Can't wait to follow the progress on this 8)

Yea thanks ...I'm just trying to sell a luv right now that is allready Sas ....but its not going to quick

I was looking at a BADASS set of axels .in tacoma ...they where a set of Dana 30 front Dana 44 rear
The d44 was spooled and was also disk brake converted and they where painted like a semi gloss black and had new brake .line fittings and everything

It was the deal of the century only .500$

But even if I came up.with the cash ...a deposit for a house is more important unfortunately

I'm going to rebuild the old G200 first though..then Sas then .paint n stuff
