High guys im new to the website and i gotta say all the info has been helpful. But me and my uncle are restoring a 1978 4x4 Luv. Here's our dilema.... When we got the truck it's previous owners had installed 3 inch body lift blocks under the cab and bed to help clear larger tires. Well when the cab was raised.... sadly the shifter was not. lol so in order for the shifter to be able to move into 2nd, and 4th gear. the floor around the shifter had to be trimed so the shifter could move back far enough. lol well honestly it looks tacky, so id like to take some sheet metal and fill up the hole they cut there. only prob is i dont know what can be done to extend the shifter 3 inches...... any ideas guys? suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

P.S.- also looking for ways to lift the truck thru suspension lift. We dont wanna jack up the torsion bars in the front. So also, Suggestions welcome. Thanks again :D

The only front suspension lift is to crank the t-bars.
BTW- 1st year of 4x4 LUV was 1979, unless it's a conversion your truck is not a '78.

I used this style boot to cover the hole in my floor. And a smaller same style one for the t case shifter.

I haven't tired it, but there's a post where you can get the A-arms off a Trooper and flip the ball joints upside down. That would raise the front supesion some.

This is my swap and lift using Trooper front control arms and the rear springs witch give me about a 3" lift and a good ride. The spacers are from independent 4X4 and are mounted under instead of through the top. The rear leafs are Trooper bolted to the LUV main leaf.
