ok so i finally got started working with my truck and what bugged me is that some one broke the key switch (go figure) so i wanted to hook some temp switches and a push button starter. thought it would look cool any was does any one know how to wire up the acc, on switch and the push button start.

For what it is worth, I put on of wallmart's universal ignition switches in my luv. Had no problem wiring it up. Had to cut plug off and use crimp connectors.

If you read the schemo its not hard to do, my question is why would you want to? Get a replacement switch and you wont have any self induced problems down the road.

I forget the colors, but you can find them at http://www.luvtruck.com/PDF/Series6.pdf You have a hot, black I think to the ignition switch. Connect it to both switches. I think it is black/yellow that goes to the fuse box for hot in run things, and blue for hot in acc. Then connect the starter button to what I think is a black/white wire. Another place to check the wire colors is at the coil. The wire that goes directly to the + terminal of the coil is start. The one that goes to the ballast resistor is run.

I kind of agree with buying a new ignition switch.

rockauto.com has ignition switches for LUVs.

Donchya think it just MIGHT be important to tell us what you're driving? For instance, if it's an '81 diesel, it could be different from a '76 gas truck.
