Only the Calif Emission 4X4 LUV's are different then the 2wheel drive.

yeah sorry, thats what i meant. i want to see just how the tire is actually secured in the bed. i have it underneath the truck bed right now, but i want to move it for the times i go off roading.

The tire would not fit with the roll bar in, so (not me) hammered this mount flat and put it in the floor of the bed. In the other pics you can see where and how it should be mounted.

The last one is of a little splurging I did last weekend. I finally found some light covers I liked, for the price I was OK with. $15 at Pep Boys. I really wanted the smiley face ones but these work. KC on my Dick Cepeks. (Don't tell Dick)

so it DID at one point have the tire mounted in the middle of the bed right?

This truck did. That mount was originally mounted left of center, up against the front of the bed. Top holes in the top of the rub rail, and bottom bolts in the floor of the bed. The bracket flanges were bent in opposite directions. Am I making sense?

yeah i get it. kind of like a semi-straightened Z right? top sits on the lip of the bed, bottom on the bed ridges.

got it. gonna have to make a custom one that will also hold the jack and lug wrench altogether.
