4bt weighs a ton!!! And it is tall as the plumbing for the turbo goes over the top of the engine. There has been talk on using the ISUZU engine in things... Check on the 4bt forum, or the yahoo group which I am too.... I have 2 350 olds diesels.. 1 with around 500,000 miles on it. Problem is getting some parts... I can not find oversize rings... every now and then a set will show up... It was even in a ford truck at one time... You have to use what you got some times.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

olds 350 diesel???
not a bad idea =)
i do have some trouble trusting the chevy diesels for the blocks but 500,000 on an olds diesel doesnt sound bad at all. how hard are those to come across?

For now? The stock steering for the Chevy the 10 bolt came off of, steering box and all. Eventually I'll go crossover, and eventually eventually I'll go full hydro.

You need the later "DX" engine. The letters are cast into the side of the block.
NEVER NEVER reuse the head bolts!!!!! Use new ones or ARP bolts.. Both of mine have them. All factory replacements were supposed to be DX engines. You can find them sometimes.

Heres how i had to build a cross member for the front shackles. I used toyota rear springs, and they are long enough to were i needed that extra coupl inches out front to fit them.
