the whole "dgav ev, dfav dgv ect. is telling you weather its a automatic choke, electric choke, or manual choke.
the carb you are going to want to get with the stock 1.8 liter is the 32/36 dgav or ev. http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/category_s/432.htm that is where you will find the carbs you need. i get pretty good gas mileage and a little more power from putting that carb on.

DG*V, the star tells you electric or hot water choke, DGV, manual choke.
DF*V, the same, DFV, manual choke.

Difference between DFV and DGV is that they are a mirror image of one another. Typically a DGV carb is used on these trucks. I think the gas, throttle and choke may be in non-standard positions, but I think you could still hook it up.

If you go to the site main page there is a .zip file with datasheets on all the Webers. Just look it over and you'll see the difference.

I tried to hook up a mirror image carb,a holley weber copy,it turned out to be more of a pain in the a** than it was worth.there is a description of how it can be done,i think it is in the stock g 180 performance tip section of drivetrain upgrades, good luck.
