I was working on my 80 4x4 Luv. The Idler arm has a shaft that comes down through a housing. The housing has a bushing and a grease seal at the bottom. I replaced the bushing, but have not found a grease seal (the old one is shot). Anyone worked on this? Have you found a grease seal? Or maybe an alternative to that?

I forgot to put that the diagram is for the 81/82 Luv.
The Haynes manual doesnt have a good picture of the 79/80 4x4 Idler Arm.

I have a couple of the bushings left over, but I was able to reuse my seal. I wouldn't know where to find one.

Yea I tried one of the companies that makes the seals, you can search by dimenstion, but they didn't have anything that matched it.
I don't think the 2WD Luv's have the Idler Arm.

They do. I rebuilt the idler arm on my 80 2wd and 79 4X4. Same set up.

The top nut and grease fitting doesn't come off, at least I've never pulled them off. Just unscrew the shaft, clean all the old grease and grime out, replace the bushing, put the shaft back in pre-loaded with some grease (helps if the great fitting is out) then grease using the fitting. The idler arm design is really not so great IMHO as grease has to go through the threads of the shaft, and I always said the next one I re-did I would drill and tap a hole in the side of the bracket for a second grease fitting.

The 2WDs and the 79-80 4WDs do have the same shaft and bracket. The arm itself is different though if I recall.
