I'm planning to put toyota axles under my 80 Luv and want to go coils and not mess with the leaf springs at all. I going to get everything in and adjusted before I install the sbc, has anyone done this before?

I hope you have a good tape measure as i don't think there is enough room for coils and the tires using Toyo axles ( the reason for leaf springs)Not that i can't be done as it probably be done with a lot of frame modifications.

Yes your right about the room, been doing alot of measuring and just sitting there looking at it and going to try putting the coils directly under the frame straight down to the axles. Going to be needing alot of ground clearence for the 38's and ford ranger spring's measure about 12.5" tall and about 4.75 dia. and a full size ford 4x4 springs measure the same height with 5.25 dia. Oh I'll be putting a sbc engine in so spring rate will be a factor. Haven't got started yet been spending alot of time in the savage yard's looking at different front end's with my tape measure and I think I got it figured out pretty close. I'm thinking on taking pictures all through the process on this one and posting them if no one abjects. :D :D 8)
