Your truck is really awesome! I want to do the same thing to mine. After you did the SAS did you go with power steering? And since you're running 33's did you regear your axles or just do an engine swap?

well i didnt build it but, it doesnt have power steering but its not to bad to turn as long as your moving. its got the stock rear with stock 4:10 gears and a d35 4:10 gears in the front. it does pretty good with the v6 th350 setup, but it doesnt have a very high top speed. anything else just ask i can take pics of whatever you want.

I like your luv. Yours looks like mine. I have a roll bar, a lift, and soon to be a push bumper too.
Although you have much bigger tires than mine.
Mines starting to get a little rust too. I'm going to sand it though and use primer and a clear coat.
:D

Maybe up there but there's three luvs, an 80 or 79, a 77, and an 81 at the pull and pay at 66th and broadway next to I-25. Those beds look allright might be worth checking out.

A bone yard at 66th and Broadway??? Never knew one was there, and I lived pretty close to there before I moved to WYoming. The best luck I had was pull n save in aurora off of Peoria and I-70.

Yeah if you're heading east on U.S. 36 and get off at broadway you just travel south until you it 66th, take a right and it's the very first right. They also have a website that shows the inventory. It's like denver.pullandpay.com or something. Right now they're only showing the 77 and the 81 because some jackass took his side decals off his 79 or 80 luv and put on F-350. SO THEY ACTUALLY LABELED IT AN F-350!!! And they'res also one in colorado springs that has a few luvs there as well. I haven't been there but the website says there is.

Good luck in the Air Force. It's not a bad job. I have been retired from active duty for 3 1/2 years now. It was great for me. Still is.

This should probably go in drivetrain upgrades, but has anybody seen a mid-engined LUV?
I just got to thinking, and wouldn't it be sweet to take the engine out of a front wheel drive, turn it sideways, and stick it in the bed? Cut a hole in the middle of the bed just behind the cab, modify the frame to put in the engine mounts, and get one of those fiberglass bed covers? Full time 4 wheel drive (something would have to be done to lock the diff. in the transaxle) and I've seen hydraulic shifters, so that wouldn't really be a problem. Hell, and if one used a late model car (say a '96 Chevy Corsica with a V-6), it would more than pass smog for any LUV year... The only place I might differ from everyone else is that I'd like to put IRS (indie rear suspension) in it... I'm more into the drive fast off-roading versus the crawling around.
Comments?

BTW, nice LUV 77 4x4. Too bad you sold it, but I'm sure you'll find another one after your contract ends.
