i need to know the length of a 2wd tranny from bellhousing to tailshaft, and how long a 2wd diesel tranny is. 4 speed for sure and 5 speeds to if you have them, but i'm guessing the 5 speeds are longer than the 4 speed 4x4 w/ t-case. i m hoping the 2wds are shorter, thinking about engine swaps and would like to do a diesel if i could find one. but for now i want to put a 2wd trans behind my 1.8 to run divorced dual toyota cases instead of the 4x4 trans and mated case w/ divorced single toy case i have now. any help is much appricated. if the length doesnt work out i want to know now so i can just start plans for a different motor swap. thanks

I don't know for sure on the diesel trans, but the 2WD 5Spd I have out of a gas 2.3L 88 Isuzu Impulse is the same length as the stock 2WD LUV 4Spd. The 4x4 5Spds are longer. I don't have either here to measure, but once someone can comment on the stock length that will give you something to work with.
