LUV's just dont' have a lot of ponies under the hood. It's a small pickup, give it some credit! Unless you can't hit at least 65-70mph. Maybe then there's a problem...
They're kinda hard to find parts for. Maybe a junkyard.

ret1614 is pretty much right but I would suggest you spend some time reading old posts. Use the search tool. There are a LOT of posts on this subject. There a few things you can do if you want to stray from completely stock like a weber carb, Offy intake, better distr. and so on. I'm not sure exactly how many miles mine has but I know it is well over 200K and when I get over 65 it feels like Star Trek " She can't take it anymore she's going to blow". Well it's not really that bad but you get the idea. I have a 80 4x4 and it is all stock at this point. If your state doesn't have emmisions testing you could remove the smog stuff too.

I would trow all the all the stock stuff out it aint bad its just gutless. I would find a 350 or a big block for the money it aint that much more and you can get alot more horses. 8)
