Contact a Pertronix seller by phone or in person, and ask for a
Reluctor ring 18433 and a
Module kit 16430
These will screw into the old points screw holes and work great. I love mine.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Rondog, roughly how much did your pertronix setup cost?

I don't remember for sure. I think $80 or $100 bucks.

Based on rondog's response on this topic I searched for the pertronix item numbers listed and am confused:

I found an item 751-18433 ($19.99) at http://www.jegs.com (http://www.jegs.com/i/Pertronix/751/18433/10002/-1) which was refered to as a Pertronix Ignition Magnet Sleeve Bosch 4 cy not a Reluctor Ring. Is this the same thing?

I could not locate the item 16430 (Modulator Kit). Any idea if item numbers may have changed or this item number was typo?

Thanks.

I got this info from another member here, took it to a speed shop and he ordered them for me. No problems. I could not find the parts over the net. I had to go to a shop and have them order individual parts for me.

Thanks rondog.

For what it's worth, I looked up the closest dealers (w/in 50 miles) of my location and they only stock Pertronix for speciality areas like Corvettes & VWs and they didn't have idea where to get these parts.

I downloaded the Pertronix catalog and as you said, they are no where to be found. I've sent Pertronix and e-mail and hopefully they can help me locate someone from which I can buy them. If not, I guess it's the 80's model ISUZU pickup distributor route.

Thanks again.

Just a quick follow-up on this post. I contacted Pertronix who verified the item numbers provided by rondog. They suggested I contact Summit Racing which I did. I have them on order and Summit now lists both items on their website. I can't wait to get them and see how they work. It's got to be better than points.

Very cool. The local speed shop near the house went belly up. No big deal, it was no good anyway. I think I fried my Pertronix I had. (my fault I figure) So I ordered new from Summit. Your right. It's in there now and was no problem. $105 with handling and free shipping. Handling???? Just a way to get more $ from you IMO. But whatever, I got them on the way for my 78.

Good luck with the install. Mine went extremely well and couldn't be happier. The only thing Pertronix and the instructions did not cover was the nylon bushing that seperates the inside/outside of the distributor. I had to drill it out slightly to get the wiring grommet through and still provide a snug/watertight fit.

Other than that, it was well worth not having to fool with points any more and super simple.
