first of can it be done and will it help also are there any upgrades to the motor 1.8l carb

Yes, it can be done, and yes, it helps. The systems are not easy to find, however.

And yes, there are upgrades to the 1.8 motor. The C223 diesel is my favorite upgrade! :wink:

I see you're in Charlotte. Too bad you missed the P'up meet back in March, we had it in Concord. We had LUVs and P'ups (we make no distinction between P'ups and the post-'81 LUVs).
