Should a 79 4X4 LUV have the 4X4 light in the dash in the bottom of the right circle?
Mine has an "unleaded gas only" light where my 80 (2X4) has an unused 4X4 light. I'm wondering if someone swapped out the gauge set or if the 79's did not have the 4X4 light and 80 did???

I always thought the 80's were the only ones to have the 4X4 light.

Cool. Thanks. We have a few electrical gremlins in this thing. Other people have really hacked it up. At least I know that part is like it is supposed to be.

i may just be goin crazy but i think in 79' that may have been an option for the mikados just a rumor

My '79 Mikado doesn't have the 4x4 light. If it was ever available as an option it must have been very rare. I am swapping an '80 gauge cluster in during the restoration. :)

My parts book shows it as 80 only. The 80 trans also added a switch for the sensor for it. I am not sure if you can modify the 79 trans to add the switch. I figured to add the 80 cluster with the 4x4 light to mine when I drop in the 5spd, which has the switch.
