I had 31x10.5s on an 80, three inches of body lift, not quite to the bumpstops on the suspension lift (torsion crank) and they still rubbed. I do not recall the offset of the wheels, but they just *almost* rubbed the frame and would still hit the fender if you hit much of a bump turned.
My 79 with an inch less body lift, same suspension lift pretty much, and slightly trimmed fenders did not rub. So, I'd say expect to cut some of the fender. I cut mine in a line from where the fender opening met the lower body line to a spot about half way between the two bolts that hold the lower edge of the fender to the cab. If you leave a half inch more than that and fold it over nice you can barely tell they are cut at all.
Narrower tires might help, 9.5s with a tad more backspacing on the wheel than I had might squeeze in. 235/75R15s fit pretty easy and they are not far from the same diameter, just narrower. My current 79 has 225/75R15s on it without any body lift, and no torsion crank to speak of, with no fender trimming. I never had it rub but the worst I subjected it to was speedbumps and parking lot entrances.
I'll try to measure those wheel and figure out what the backspacing is. I've got them on my Trooper now so it might be a bit before I get time to pull a wheel and measure.
