Nice to meet some gear head LUVS. I am a proud owner of a 1980 4x4 Mikado, if there is such a thing. Dont really know if it really is or not. Didnt have the sport steering wheel but did have the emblems on the bed and on the jock box lid. SO, I call it one. It now sports a stock sport steering wheel. It even had air at one time, if any one knows what I might be able to replace it with, any help would be nice and greatly appreciated. Spare parts or where to get reasonable stuff.
The thing was a total disasembled wreck when I purchased it for a reasonable 300 bucks.....5 years ago. No hood, or if you call a piece of tin a hood, no front nose at all! But a bed full of crap. A pair of seats with dried mud every where. Bullet holes in the floor board for drainage...I guess..When I purchased the thing in the early spring of 2000 it had already been sitting for quite a few years. But it did have a complete running gear that was and still is in pretty good shape. Not shure if it only has 60,000 some or 160,000.....who cares its a LUV!
Its a life long project that I started about when I was about 15 or somthin'! Seen one, seen what it could do, wanted one, and finally got one! (only a few years done the line) Didnt relieze that I could of bought on off of the show room floor for what I just about got into the hunk of junk that should of went to the scrap yard when I got the thing!! LOL!!
One more thing!! Anyone of you gear heads know what kind of visor I see on LUV'S?? Any help would be greatfull!
Sorry dont have a web site but I do have some pics I would like to post. Any help there would once again greatly appreciated.
Just keep on "truckin'"
Brother B.
