Dear board Members,

I can trade my cj7 for a 79 chevrolet LUV pickup or pay cash and buy it.

Before i make this deal i am looking for info ,where to look for problems or other things to watch !!!

As i have no knowledge of this type of car i need advice !!!

Well here in southern California we don't do rust. We do grow it so we don't deal with it. It looks like a fun truck if you can get it for a very low price.

It has a fair amount of rust. What do you want to do with it? That to me would set the price. If its a project don't pay too much.

Here in the Netherland a car build longer then 25 years ago is special because you don't have to pay any road tax or tax of any kind and as a oldtimer you pay only $75,00 insurance a year,Normally that would be $2400 road tax and about $1200 insurance a year !!

I drive a cj7(oldtimer)with a chevy 327 V8 engine as a daily driver in the city of Amsterdam ,but with gas prices going 1.50 Euro a liter this is getting to expensive for me.

That's when this car came on my path ,i am serious in buying/trading !!!

I don't care about a little rust ,but this car has German car papers and need to go for Dutch papers meaning that it has to get approval ,and i don't want to be confronted with a huge repair bill !!!

So i need all the help where to look for hidden problems !!!
