PapaG here.

Name is really Richard Green. I live in Texas. Been here most of my life, since 1965 anyway. I am a older guy (52)

I had a 79 Luv 4x4, with body lift, custom push-grill guard. Black with White spoke wheels and mud tires. It was mostly stock, holley replacement carb. It has been gone a long time.

Trying to buy a V8 luv it I can work a deal.

I am into all things automotive, but it's been VW's for awhile. Current cars are a chopped top 68 VW Type 3 Squareback (stationwagen) 87 VW Syncro (4x4) Vanagon. Quite a few others, My son and I own 17 VW between us.

I am a diesel nut. Having bought a 1980 VW Rabbit diesel, later a 97 Passat TDI, and 2001 Golf TDI.

I worked at GM dealers for 10+ years, and later did oilfield truck and trailer rigging. Worked on 18 wheelers and spent a few years doing HiPo engine building and machine work for shop in Houston till the Oil crunch killed off lots of stuff in the mid 80's.

Went back to school and on computers now.

Richard

Still want to put a diesel in a luv too.

Biggest problem is finding a good Luv. All I find are a junker and they want $2k-$3k for, it is just a shell ahd the want $1000 bucks, or the loveable rust bucket that they still want a grand for it. The other problem is they are all left coast, right coast, or the great white north... Hell The extreams in Texas are far off.

I'll see where I have a picture posted of my squareback. It is waitihg on me rebuilding the 1600 engine or putting a 1.8 type 4 or the real deal 914 2.0l engine in it.

Richard
