So I've had a luv for about 12 years now. It's a 75, and was all stock, but I bought it with a blown head gasket. After a few years of occasional weekend drives, I finally pulled the head and sent it out to get machined, and reassembled with a new gasket. 25 miles and 2 years later, the cam snapped because the machine shop just decked the surface, and didn't line bore the cam journals. It did make the drive home running on 2 cylinders though
Now, years later, I found an engine for free out of a 1973. It is a pushrod g161 that was pulled so the owner could build a dragster.
And in the past few days, I've found out that no parts are available for that motor because it was only supposed to be sold in Australia. So here I am, Cometic says they can make me a head gasket, but I'll need to send one in so they can make the pattern, and it will be 1-2 months out. I'm here to see if anybody has an old gasket they would be willing to send me so I can send it on to them and get the pattern made, as well as ask some other questions for anybody with experience with these little oddballs
