Took the jump yesterday and picked up a 1979 LUV. Overall she's in pretty good shape, most of the rust is only surface. Only real nasty spot is at the front body mounts where it's pretty well gone so that's gonna be one of the first jobs on the project!

In short the initial plans for it are pretty simple:
1) Get more info on the basics of the platform, i.e. fixing those rust holes, rear end options, etc.
2) Lower the truck (either 3":4" or 2/2.5":3", haven't made up my mind here yet)
3) Start looking at whether to do an EFI conversion (carbs + altitude = fun?) or just learn more about carb tuning at altitude/in general (this is my first venture into the carbureted engine world)
As far as what it has right now, prev. owner had to replace the engine so they tossed in an '81 1.8L. Other than that, just different wheels.
Long term plan though (2-2.5 years out probably) is going to be an electric swap. That'll probably end up requiring a laundry list of ancillary modifications to keep the drivetrain from ripping itself apart though, so time to save up
