I used a stock electronic dizzy from a 2nd Gen LUV. (These go on into various Isuzus and early S-10s.) Cheap on ebay. Did a little write up on it. It eliminated the points, and the truck has been easier to tune up since. Clearly one of my easiest upgrades, (and until I changed the carburetor) it made the biggest difference in the performance of the stock engine.

Here's my write up.

Pertronics makes a drop in kit for the dizzy to convert it also! These trucks have an electric fuel pump that is by the fuel tank and there is a few threads on the subject here that are really helpful! Nice truck wish I had that tailgate! :ebiggrin Good luck with your project!
