I picked up a 82 diesel Luv this weekend. It has 124,000 miles and other than flaking paint it is pretty straight.
My daily driver is a 85 Toyota 4x4 turbo diesel. I have owned almost all the small diesel trucks sold in the US in the 80s
I have been a member over on the Pup forum for a while. The seller bought the truck at the same estate auction I bought my 86 Ford Ranger turbo diesel. I bought a couple of isuzu diesel parts trucks at the same auction.
The Luv has been sitting for at least 12 years. I ordered new glow plugs and hope to get it on the road this weekend.
The last owner changed the timing belt and fluids. I see there is a 72 Luv at an auction next week. I had better not go I have no more room.

Welcome!

Where is the auction with the 72?

Diesel wasn't an option in the 72 LUV. Might not be your taste. :)

I live in Fairbanks Alaska. I knew the gold miner who had it. I bought some mammoth tusks from him. I have not seen the truck but will check it out and post a photo. Although I am definitely a diesel guy I am open to any neat old truck or car. My summer driver is a 51 Chevy sedan.

I am an artist but I also buy and sell mammoth tusks and ivory. The tusks in this set are 14 feet long and weigh over 240 pounds each.
I have learned a lot about the history of Luvs from this site. A guy around the corner had a first generation step side in his backyard I just noticed it was gone. Old vehicles seem do well in time up here if they are kept up off the ground.
